CRICKET.
The following gentlemen have been chosen to go into practice for the Hawera match, viz,:—Messrs Jacomh, W Harden, Arundell, Fred Horner, Smith, Norman, C Harden, Read, Brown, Fulton, Gower, Rose, Jacob, and Taplin. The above members are requested to practise every fine day they can conveniently get away. Yesterday was one of the grandest days for cricket that we have had since last season. Now tbrat a junior club has started, why not, for practice,' have a little scratch match with them every fine afternoon ? This would enable the captain of the Patea C 0 to place his field out as he will require them for the forthcoming match.
Members chosen from the Gladstone C C to play a match against the Waverley C C, on the Pnlca recreation ground next Saturday, to commence at half-past I sharp;— J Kitching (captain), S Johnston, E Mangin, G W Gower, J Boagoy, W Harden, M Carey, A Paterson, J Bell, J F G Larking, R Howe; emergency men— J McCarty, A Arthur, J Handley.
