[per press association.] AUCKLAND, This day. Mr Rochefort and survey party arrived at Kihikihi on Saturday, having completed the exploration of ihe Central Route to the westward of Tuhoa. Mr Rochefort reports a good line throughout and being kindly received by the Natives everywhere. The Natives state Carkeek’s parly is on the Ohara river, meeting very unfavourable country for a railway. The whole of the King Country has been traversed and found consisting of a large proportion of firstclass land.
