SHEEP FARMING.
The present price of fat sheep .should stimulate every farmer who has suitable land to have a good breadth of turnips in the coming season; even though he cannot purchase stock to consume them himself he will find little difficulty in selling the crop to be fed on the land at a price which will leave a fair margin for profit, besides leaving the land in the best of all all conditions for a grain or grass crop in the following season. Farmers and stockowners heed not be the least alarmed at the reported glut of the London meat markets. The trade is barely in its infancy. The assumed glut is merely a trick of the trade, which must be overcome by those interested taking such measures as will reach more directly the great mass of consumers. There is more danger of our supply falling short than of any glut at hornet,We Jiayo-^before now pointed this out. We repeat again that if a continuous supply'of suitable meat is to be kept up, we shall have to embark largely in turnip growing,— Press,
