. The interview between Prince Frederick William of Germany and Pope Leo XIIL, at the Vatican today lasted an honr. The interview was of a very cordial nature. The organs of the Catholic party refer to the meeting in Jubilant terms. His Imperial Highness leaves Rome on Thursday next. PARIS, Dec 18. In the Chamber of Deputies to-day the additional war credit of 20,000,000 francs for defraying the cost of the Toii4' l in expedition was voted by a large majority. LISBON, Dec 18. The gunboat Childers, bnllt for the Victorian Government was tested yesterday «i Portsmouth. The torpedo practice was excellent, and received high commendation from the naval officers present. The cause eelehre Belt v. Lawes, has been finally plaintiff having accepted a compromise in Hen of proceedings with a new trial, the role nisi for which vras granted in January last.
