MriFoulis paid- his annual,, and, Tam sorry to note, his, last examination to our local school on Dec 6. He expressed himself highly pleased with the of the school. The children’s singing, and drill he was also extremely pleased with. There are 35 children now belonging,to the school ; of these 16 were infants who have been less than two years at school, and four were not eligible becauselkey' had only recently joined. . These four children were examined by Mr Foulii, who considered the progress they had made during their short term satisfactory. The remaining sixteen children were presented in their respective Standards. The following are' the names of, the successful* candidates. Standard I Presented, 6 ; passed, .4; John Hamilton, Ronald Peacock;‘William Morgan, Timothy O’Neil. v Standard JLfPresented 5 ; passed 5 ; Norman Peacock, Arthur Lister, John Curtayne, Miriam Morgan, Mary Curtayne. Standard Presented, 4 ; passed, 4 ; George Morgan, William Edwards, Margaret O’Neil; Mary Lister. Standard IV.—Presented, 1 ; George Peacock, who passed with the very high number of 354 marks out ofa possible 450. This speaks volumes forMrThomas as a teacher, and the aptitude of the boy* I see none of the children attending tn* :Patea School obtained the same number of 'marks. .. •
