NELSON, : This day.; The Champion Copper Company, which recently sent 20 tons ore to Newcastle, have received the following cable: —“ Out-tnrn, per cent,, and sold twelve shillings per It is calculated that the shipment realised £23 per ton, which is considered very satisfactory. The crosscut is now through the “ Doctors ” lode, which is about two feet wide. The surface was found at 15ft. At this depth the manager estimates the Doctors lode worth £l5O per fathom. Sample? of the drilling, which appear half native copper, are to be sent for analysing purposes. The highly encouraging reports are causing excitement.
