A VENERABLE CLERGYMAN.
The Yen. Archdeacon Brown, of Poverty Bay, is certainly not a new chum. A recent Bay of Plenty Times says“ The Yen. Archdeacon Brown entered his 81st year on Tuesday last. The venerable gentleman dined with a few of his old intimate friends on the occasion. The severe winter had tried him greatly daring the past season. Archdeacon Brown has performed clerical duties in this district for more than 50 years, and has been connected with the town and its progress from its early days.”
