The fire commenced in the Chinese quarters in Lower George-street and spread rapidly. Among the buildings destroyed were two Chinese.,, warehouses ' and the premises occupied by Dignon and Co., warehousemen, and Mitchell, Francis and Co, ship chandlers. The Coffee Palace was also much damaged.
