[REUTER-COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, Oct 16. Telegrams from Pietermaritzburg announce that Cetewayo yielded to the representations of Mr Osborne, and agreed to surrender himself to the British authorities. The King crossed the border into Natal to-day with an •escort of British troops. Oct 17. The shipment of frozen meat by the 1 steamship Catalonia, from New Zealand, has been found to be in good condition. A portion was placed on the market today, and realised 6d per lb. The London meat market is at present glutted, and lower prices for all descriptions are ruling. The Congress of Liberals met to-day at Leeds. Delegates from all parts of the kingdom were present, besides a large number of members of Parliament. The chief topic to bo brought before the Congress is the extension of the franand at the inaugural session tothe leaders of the parly delivered addresses bearing chiefly upon the subject. LISBON, Oct 16. A Republican outbreak of some magnitude has occurred among the peasantry in the western portion of the country. A large number of rebels are armed, and a body of troops despatched against them were repulsed. Several persons have been wounded, but no deaths are reported to have occurred. In the awards at the Fisheries Exhibition for general exhibits, the Sydney Museum received a gold medal; the Australian Museum six gold, six silver, and one bronze medals; the Sydney Government one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals ; the Fisheries Commission one gold and one silver medal.
