SECOND EDITION. GIRL RARBITERS.
Seventeen thousand rabbits (says the Marlborough Times) seem an almost incredible number to have been slaughtered in three mouths ; but yet such is the fact, and the strangest part is that the number mentioned were killed by two young girls, daughters of a well-known settler living at Starborough. These girls have got the best pack of dogs in the district, and pursue their strange avocation with a delight akin to that of the veteran hunter. When we mention that it is good work for two men to kill 12,000 rabbits in three months, the work of these girls can all the rnore.be appreciated.
