VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

In order that target practice, as laid down in the regulations, as a qualification for capitation, and that class firing may be encouraged as far as possible, the Defence Minister has sanctioned an allowance of Is per hour for marking, in cases where a squad of not less than eight men are exercised at one and the same time, under the supervision of an officer or non-commissioned officer of the permanent staff. Officers commanding corps will take every precaution that this concession is not abused, as it will only lead to its being discontinued. The usual weekly parade will take place to-morrow evening ; the two following weeks will be inspection parades. The corps will march out tomorrow evening if the weather is fine, accompanied by their Band.
