SAD DEATH OP A WOMAN.

The report of a sad occurrence has reached Waipawn. It appears (says the Hawke's Bay Herald) that a Mrs Prentiss, residing with her husband at Ortnondville, gave birth to twins, dead, on the 6th instant. * No one but her husband attended her—no nurse, no doctor. The woman sank, and died on the following Wednesday,, the 11th. An inquest was held on the following day, when the above facts were elicited, with the additional one that the confinement in question was the fifth in which the poor woman had been attended solely by her husband. The jury returned a verdict that the de-ceased’s-death was due to difficult confinement, and censured the husband for not having called in medical aid.
