WAVERLEY SCHOOL COMMITTEE
The ordinary meeting of the Waverley School Committee was held on the 19th inst. Present—Messrs Mason, McDonald, Thurston, and Bridge (chairman). On the motion of Mr Thurston, seconded by Mr McDonald, it was resolved, “ That the Harmonic Society be allowed the use of the school room for practice, on condition that they do not interfere with the School and leave the room clean, and that they be allowed to move the small cupboard, provided it is replaced if required.” The following accounts were passed for payment F. Davis, £5 14s ;R.& J. Muir, £2 12s Bd. Resolved, “ That Mr Ellis bo allowed to procure what stationery is required for the School on the Committee’s account.” Resolved, “ That the Chairman write to Mrs Jordan asking if Miss Jordan intends on her recovery to return to VYaverloy school for any time, or if she will apply as soon as an opening offers for an appointment as assistant mistress.” A circular was read from Messrs Bowern and Cameron (Turakina) re notice of motion to dismiss the Inspector. Resolved that it lie on the table. The Chairman was requested to see Mr Hawes about the small paddock, and get the pump repaired. The meeting then adjourned.
