Further diplomatic parleying has taken place between the Marquis Tseng and M. Challerael Lacour, Minister for Foreign Affairs, regarding the Franco-Chinese difficulty at Tonquin. The Chinese Ambassador has drawn up a series of proposals for the settlement of the question, and submitted them for the decision of the French Government, A Cabinet meeting will be held on Monday next, tenth inst., to discuss the matter. LONDON, Sept. 8. The catalogue at to-day’s wool sales comprised 9400 bales. Market dull. Mr Gladstone is cruising on the Scotch coast and is not expected to retnrn to London for some time.
