WAVERLEY NOTES.
[From our Correspondent.] The election of a new board for the Wavcrlcy Town District -comes off on the 13th iust, nominations being received up to 6th. No doubt the electors of the Town will take care to return the best men for the position. The members of the Town Board will be also members of the. Domain Board, Both these bodies are now in receipt of a considerable income, the Domain Board from the letting of the different sections, and the Town Board from Public Licenses and Dog Tax, and as ratepayers frequently growl at local bodies for the manner in which they spend their funds, they should - take good care to elect men. who. will see to the expenditure being conducted fairly. : The weekly practice of the Harmonic Society was held on Friday evening. Some: thirty working members were present, and considerable progress was made. I understand the Society have arranged for the pur-, chase of a piano, which may bo expected to arrive shortly. An eutc;ainincut in aid of the funds will take place at an early date.
