Consols remain at New Zealand secuiitics are quoted to-day as follows: —5 per cent 10-40 loan, 106£; 5 per cent 1889 loan, 106£; 4£ per cent 1879-1904 loan, 100^; 4 per cent inscribed stock, TOOT. The wheat market is unchanged. Adelaide wheat, ex store, 475; New Zealand wheat, 44s to 46s ; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 335. Australian tallow—Best beef, 40s 61 ; best mutton, 4is 6d. At the wool sale to-day, 10,800 bales were offered. No material change in prices was experienced. The market is, if anything, weaker. ' MADRID, August 28, A serious political crisis has occurred here owing to a difference between King Alfonso and his Ministers, the latter having objected to His Majesty leaving the kingdom on the proposed visit to the German Emperor.
