In the House of Commons last night the Premier was again questioned regarding ,the action of ,the Prerich commander in Madagascar in detaining the British : Consol and the Naval officers at Tamative. In the course ot his reply, . Mr Gladstone repeated his assurance that there was every prospect of an amicable settlement of the difficulty being arrived at, and that nothing had as yet occurred in Madagascar to disturb the present friendly relations between England and France. MADRID, Angnst 21. The Spanish Government has depended the expulsion from France of the guerilla troops who fled across the frontier after their recent futile .attempt to raise a rebellion. Tne French Government has, however, put difficulties in the way of the extradition of the rebels, and diplomatic relations between the two countries are in consequence somewhat strained at the present time.
