WAVERLEY NOTES.
: [From our Correspondent.] The entertainment held in the Kohi School-house, for the purpose of obtaining prizes for the children attending the Kohi School, came off-on Friday evening, and was a great success, the room being crowded, and sitting room scarce. The entertainment consisted of instrumental and vocal selections, and some readings, which wore also well received. The performers, had evidently been practising their parts, and it in evident that the Kohi possesses. considerable musical talent. Where all did their various parts so well it would be invidious to particularise, but a most, enjoyable evening was spent. The meeting of settlors interested in getting a Railway siding at the Waverley Racecourse was adjourned until next Saturday’', 17th'-instant, as the meeting was poorly attended. The settlers interested should “ roll up,” as no doubt the siding would be granted if represented to headquarters in a proper manner. ; The pew Harmonic Society expect to start the practises in a week or so, the committee having first to make arrangements re a room for practise, piano music, &c. I understand they have made arrangements with the Town Hall Company ?’e : use of the Hall.
