PARLIAMENT.
HOUSE OP REPRESENTATIVES! Thursday, Aug. 2. The House met at 2.30 p.ra. THIRD READINGS. The Taiaroa Land Bill, and the Guardians, Trust, and Executors Company Bill, were read a third time and passed. NEW BILLS. The following new Bills were introduced and read a first time: —Election of Land Boards (Grey), Disposal of Pastoral Lands (Grey), Russell Exchange of Land Bill (Rolleston), Animals Protection Amendment (Hamlin), SECOND AND THIRD READINGS. The City of Auckland Additional Loan Bill was read a second time, as also the Waimate High School Bill and Wellington Harbour Board Land and Reclamation Bill. The following Bills passed through Committee, and were read, a third-time and passed :—Massey Frauds Indemnity, Westland High School, Invercargill Reserves Exchange, and Masterton and Greytown Lands Management. _*■ ROADS AND BRIDGES. Major Atkinson moved a resolution for the appointment of a Committee to consider applications under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act, as to main roads. . Interrupted by the 5.30 adjournment, EVENING SITTING. The House resumed at 7.30, and after discussion the motion was carried by 55 to 21. * MISCELLANEOUS. The Bills of Exchange Bill was read a third time and passed ; the Criminal Execution Bill and Property Land Consolidation Bill were read a second time. The Crown Grants Bill passed through committee, and the Mining Companies Act' Amendment Bill was further considered and amended in committee. In clause 3 six months was fixed as the time transferrers of shares should remain liable. A new clause was added, that when shares were held in trust for a company they could not be disposed of by private sale. The Bill was reported as amended and the House rose at 1 o’clock.
