RATEPAYER'S MEETING.
—=— The annual meeting of ratepayers of the Patea West Road District was held at the Town Hall, Kakararaea, at noon on' Friday, the 22nd day of June inst. Present—Mr E. J. Morgan (in the chair), Messrs Hunter, Wilson, T. H. Morgan, Gibbs, Campbell, and J. Gordon. The Secretary read the statement of receipts and expenditure of the Board for the year ending 31st March last, which showed a balance in hand on the Ist April, 1882, £247 3s l$cl; rates received daring year, £IOO 15s 4£d ; deposit on contract, £3 ; subscriptions towards roads, £6 ; making a total of £35618s 6d. Expenditure— Repairs and improvements to roads* £lB3 18s 2d ; salaries £lO 8s 4d ; printing and advertising, £5 7s 6d ; sundries, elections &c £5 11s lid ; making a total expenditure of £205 5s lid ; balance in hand at end of year, £lsl 12 7d ; total, £356 18s 6d. The ratepayers present expressed themselves much satisfied with matters, and regretted that there were not a greater number present. ~
