GISBORNE SUPREME COURT.
(pee press association.) GISBORNE, This day. The Supreme Court sat till nearly ten last night, hearing a charge against. Macara Te Whera, for the murder of a Native Chief on the East Coast. A verdict of manslaughter was returned, the jury deliberating half an hour. Sentence was deferred till this morning, when his Honour passed a sentence of penal servitude for life. This concluded the criminal business.
