PATEA WEST ROAD BOARD.
The Board met on Friday. Present; Messrs E. J. Morgan (Chairman), Hunter, T. H. Morgan, Gibbs and Wilson. On the motion of Mr Hunter, seconded by Mr Gibbs, it was resolved, “ That the election to fill the vacancies in the Patea West Road Board for the year, 1883, be held on Friday, June 29, and the annual meeting of ratepayers on Friday, June 22. It was decided that at the next meeting the Board would strike a rate of £d in the £ for the period commencing June 22, and ending March 31, 1884, and that the rate should be payable on Monday, July 23. The Secretary was instructed to sue for all outstanding rates. The following accounts were passed for payment:—J Parsons, £1 8s ; T Jenkins, 8s ; T D Butter, £6 18s ; J Hartwell, £2 8s ; D Hurley, £3 15s. Tenders were accepted as follow : Upper Ball road, contract {No, I—slumping, H Hodge, 7s fid per chain ; contracts 2 and 3, Hodge, 7s ; contract 4, J Barron, 2s 8d ; 6, R Lowers, fis 8d ; Hurley road, D Hurley, 5s ; Mnnutahi, R Standford, ss. The Board then adjourned.
