(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, This day, A robbery of jewellery occurred recently either at Wellington or Kaikoura, or on board the steamer Wakatu. Mr-; Skippingtou, a new arrival, took passage! to Kaikoura by the steamer, and on Arrival at bis. destination his .boxes were sent to the hotel. Two or : three days later they were removed to his future abode, and it was then found that one box had been, tampered with, and Skippington says that jewellery valued at £IOO has been abstracted. On the return of the Wakatu; early this morning detectives made a care-, ful examination of the crew, nothing suspicious being, however, found.
