A NEW COMPANY.
It has for some time past been an open secret in Wanganui that a Limited Liability Company was in course of formation, which was to amalgamate the business firms of Mr Freeman R. Jackson and Messrs Stevens and Gorton. We understand that the capital has been fixed at £50,000, in shares of £5 each, £3 of which will be called up. Colonel Gorton will be managing director, Mr Jackson auctioneer for Wanganui and up the and Mr Stevens in the like capacity for Eangitikei and Manawatu. The shareholders are to be guaranteed 12 per cent interest for two years, and so briskly were shares being taken up on Monday last that it is said 8,000 out of the 10,000 have already been subscribed for. Five shillings per share is payable on application, 10s on allotment, and the balance by 5s calls at intervals of not less than three months. The arrangements are not yet fully completed, but should no hitch arise the prospectus will be made public in a few days.
