(PER' PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, This day. Weather forecast for 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day: Wind—between southeast and north-east in both Islands. Barometer—further rise at all stations. Sea—increase on western but moderate on eastern coast. Telegrams to expect much colder weather have been sent to all stations. Synopsis of last 24 hours;—ln all parts of the country the barometer continued falling steadily until Sunday afternoon, and since then it has risen nearly half an inch everywhere. There has been heavy rain at raest places northward of Lyttelton and Hokitika, and hard southerly gales at nearly all places from East Cape and New Plymouth southward of Lyttelton and Hokitika.
