TEMPERANCE.
TO THE EDITOR Sin, —As one who takes an interest in total abstinence, allow me to make a suggestion through your columns to Mr Hemus. At Friday’s meeting he opened and closed with hymns and prayer, and the pledge which he required included the name of the Deity ; this introduction of religion into the cause of total abstinence undoubtedly prevents numbers from joining in the work in which all liberal thinkers take deep interest. —Yours, &c. Radical.
