THE VOLUNTEERS.
The competition for the cup presented by the Captain of the Patea Rifles, took place yesterday and this morning. The target was 6x6, Wimbledon ; 7 shots at each range. Following are yesterday’s scores
A company parade was held last evening, about 30 volunteers being present. Mr H. E. P. Adams addressed the men, and thanked them for electing him to the position of Lieutenant. After parade an adjournment was made to the Albion where the health of the newly elected officer was duly honoured.
