THE PRINCE OF WALES ON BOARD A NEW ZEALAND LINER.

LONDON, April 24
The Prince of Wales has paid a visit to the While Star Liner lonic, Captain Takee, which has been chartered by the New Zealand Shipping Company for the direct steam service to New Zealand. His Royal Highness expressed admiration at the class of vessel, and the arrangements made for the comfort and safety of passengers. He also evinced great interest in the extension and improvements of the refrigerating machfw nery, which is being - erected on board of her. Mr Ismay, Manager of the White Star Line, Mr J. L. Coster (of Christchurch), Chairman of the New Zealand Shipping Company, Mr O. R, Strickland, Manager of the Company in London, and Mr Falconer Larkworthy, Director in London, were presented to the Prince of Wales, who displayed much interest in the welfare of New Zealand, and said he wished every success to the direct steam service.
