[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, this day. Following is Captain Edwin’s weatherforecast for 24 hours, from 9 a. m. today :—Wind.—between. north-west and south-west at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth, and between northeast and north-west at all other places. Barometer—Fall at all stations south of Napier and New Plymouth; within 12 hours further rise, but falling after 18 hours at all other places, sea increased on western coast and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura on eastern coast. Warnings for northerly gales have been sent to all places south of Napier and New Plymouth. Synopsis of last 24 hours :—The weather has been generally fine, hut with strong northerly winds on the eastern coast between Castlepoint and Kaikoura, and the barometer has continued to rise steadily everywhere.
