(TO PRESS ASSOCIATION.)' - ' LONDON, March 5.^ Mr Edmonds has been elected President of the American Senate. Great discontent prevails amongst the English in India at the India Government Bill subjecting them to the native criminal courts. The Colonial Institute has urged upon the Right Hon. Anthony Mundelia to-direct, tlies teaching in Board; schools of geography, history, and the knowledge of resources of the colonies. The Institute has intimated its intention of offering to schools under the control of the Roar’d prizes for the . best essays on colonial subjects. Mr Mundelia expressed his willingness to consider any new code that the Institute provides.
