PATEA WEST ROAD BOARD.

A special meeting of this Board was held at the Town Hall, Kakaramea, for the purpose of considi ring the resignation of the Secretary, MV 6. W. Taylor.

There were present—Messrs Morgan (chairman),?. Wilson, P.Campbell,Pearce, Gibbs, and the Secretary. Mr Tayler’s resignation was accepted with regret. A letter was read from Mr J. Parsons, re a certain culvert. It was proposed by Mr P. Wilson, and seconded by Mr. Pearce, “ That Messrs Morgan and Gibbs be appointed as a committee to inspect the Road Board’s accounts with reference to Mr Dale, the late secretary. The committee to have full power to deal with any matter that may crop up with reference to the deferred payment account, or any other account.” Carried. It was resolved that tenders be called for the fillingin and repairing of* the culvert on the Taumaha road, and that £2 10s be spent out of the i amount voted, and i,lie rest to be paid -by the’ l Hoad Board; 1 'Messrs Campbell and Morgan were appointed as supervisors of this work. Applications for the Secretaryship wore the read by the Chairman ; and, after some discussion, it. was resolved that Mr D. ,M. . Harris be appointed to fill the vacancy; providing that he would attend all special .meetings, arid-act as Returning Officer. Some ac j counts were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
