Trevelyan, the Irish Secretary, made a speech, in the course of which he declared that Parnell had altogether failed to exculpate himself from the charges laid against him by Mr Forster. After further discussion; an amendment to the Address proposed by Mr Gorst, setting forth “ That no further concessions should be made to a lawless agitation in Ireland,” was, on division, negatived by a majority of 82. Mr Harrington, Secretary to the Irish National League, who was recently placed under arrest, has been elected to the vacancy in the House of Commons without opposition. The election to the vacancy of the representation of Newcastle-on-Tyne, caused by the resignation of Mr Ashton Dilke, took place to-day, and resulted in the return of Mr Morley, by a largo majority.
