PATE A WEST BO AD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Patea West Hoad Board was held at the Town Hall, Kakaramea, yesterday, there being present —Mr E. Morgan (chairman), Messrs A. Hunter, T. H. Morgan, R. B. Pearce, A. Gibbs and P. Campbell. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed, and outward correspondence approved of. A letter was received from (he Minister of Public Works, intimating, in reply to an application by the Board for a crossing over the railway line at Manntahi, that the engineer had reported sufficient accommodation would be procured without a crossing. It was decided to again call (he Minister’s attention to a letter sent to him on the 18th ult. Mr P. Hurley and others wrote, asking that the balance of deferred payment monies be spent in improving Ball road in lieu of Fetch road. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr T. H. Morgan, seconded by Mr Gibbs, that the application be acceded to, less a sum of £4, to be reserved for contingent expenses. Messrs T. JH. Morgan and A. Hunter-were appointed a committee to carry out the work.
It was resolved —“ That Messrs E. J. Morgan and P. Campbell be authorised to call for tenders for works on Tomner and Manutahi roads.” It was decided to call the attention of the "Resident Engineer at Hawera to the cattle stop on Garset road.
