INDUSTRIES FOR PATEA.
TO THE EDITOR'.' N ■ Sir, — At the iisk of being thought troublesome I-again address ; you : on the subject of industries for Patea'. A copy of the N Z. Her'ald (posted with this) gives 'some valuable'information on the subject of meat-preserving. If the statements contained in the article I refer to are correct, I do not think a more promising business could be embarked in by the Patea people, for here again, asjn the woollen industry,-theMutere’eta.Sbf country and town would be identical. * Patea. cannot afford to -stand still, and must progress or come to nothing. It is idle to say there is no money for starring industries when the held of operations extends practically from New;.. Plymouth to Wanganui,, and , money, will t not ; ppme to the district withouf spending money. ■ (My letter re woollen industries, which you - were good -enough to was noticed to-day’s Herald.—l am,.&c. ; Auckland, Jan. 12.
