Intelligence is to Land from the Soudan that an engagement lias been fought between a - battalion of Esryp’ian troops ' and rebels under El latidi, the False Prophet. The latter were victorious, and inflicted a severe defeat on the troops, the whole battalion of the latter being virtually destroyed, fully one-half being killed and the rest placed hors de combat. :
