The long outstanding dispute between Mr Bheehan, aS trustee for the late Karaitiana, and Mr Douglas McLean, son of the . late Sir Donald McLean, concerning the Ngalarawa Blocks, was settled this morning. The difference between the amount offered for the purchase of the land and that which was demanded was £IOOO. Mr Sheehan proposed, and Mr McLean agreed, that this sum should be given to the Napier and Waipukurau hospitals, £SOO to each for the endowment and maintenance of Maori wards, to be called the McLcan-Karaitiana Wards.
