Dr Crokcr, the Premier’s medical adviser, has been summoned io Ha warden. (Received January 9, 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, Jau 8. It has been ascertained that Mr Gladstone’s indisposition arises from overwork, and his medical adviser has recommended complete rest. Mr Gladstone has consequently abandoned his intended political lour in Midlothian. A serious collision occurred to-day in the Mersey between the Inman Lino steamship City of Brussels ami another vessel. The former sank in deep water shortly after the collision, and 10 persons were drowned.
