PATEA WEST ROAD BOARD.

A special meeting of this Board was held on Friday evening, for the purpose of receiving the resignation of the clerk and treasurer, Mr W Dale. Present ; Messrs E Morgan ("chairman), T. Morgan, Pearce, Gibhs, and Hunter.. It was proposed by Mr Gibbs, “ That Mr Dale’s resignation be accepted.” Seconded by Mr T Morgan, and carried. Resolved, “That Mr G Washington Taylor, of Patca, bo appointed clerk and returning officer in the place of Mr D ale and that the Board pay for guarantee of bond of £100.” Resolved, “ That the Chairman be authorised to act in the matter of transfer of duties of clerk.” A requisition, signed by ratepayers, was made to the Chairman, desiring him to convene a meeting at the Town Hall on Monday, the Bth January, to consider the advisability of suspending the operations of the Counties’ Act. The meeting then adjourned.
