His Excellency the Governor of Fiji visited Samoa in H. M. S. Diamond on the 24th October. The object of the visit was to inquire into some outrages which had been committed upon British subjects. The result of' the inquiry was that the natives implicated were fined £IOO, which they paid. His Excellency then returned to Fiji, arriving there on November 3rd in the same vessel.
