SECOND EDITION. FATAL BOAT ACCIDENT.

(PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 18. At 10 o’clock this morning a float contining Mr Laing, Chief Officer of the British ship Ashmore, and Robins, Veigler, and Connor, seamen, loft the Queen-street wharf with the intention of going on board of that vessel, lying in the stream. A strong westerly breeze was blowing and before the boat had gone 300 yards from (he wharf it capsized, and Robins and Veigler were drowned. Laing and Connor supported themselves on an oar and were rescued by the ferry steamer Alexandria. When the steamer came on the scene Robins was observed swimming, but sank before be was reached.
