The Harbour Board is inviting competitive designs for harbour improvements. The plans will be submitted to a marine engineer in England, who will be rnominated by the Agent-General. The designs are to be sent in to the Board by January. WELLINGTON, Oct. 12. It is understood that the Government i have decided not to interfere with the ; sentence of a months’ imprisonment re- j cently passed on two young persons for indecent behaviour in the Botanical Gardens. The boating season will open on Saturday, should the weather prove favourable. [Nothing has been done by the Government with regard to the case of Adams, recently convicted of conspiracy,, because Mr Ollivier, solicitor for the defence, is tomorrow to move for a new trial.
