Mr Courtney, in his speech at Torpoint yesterday, further stated that England’s policy was to detach Egypt from the suzerainty of the Sultan, and fo take steps to establish an European guarantee for the proper administration of the country, AUSTRALIAN. Captain Morep and Lieutenant Darwin, a son of the deceased naturalist, leave here to-morrow for Queensland, to make arrangements for observing the transit of Venus. Captain Tupman, who is expected to arrive shortly, is going to New Zealand for a similar purpose.
