WOOL PRICES. The Colonial circular of the Loan and Mercantile Agency reports as follows ; Christchurch. —Since our last issue we have held a special auction sale of wools, consisting chiefly of fellmongeiV scoured parcels. Buyers display great reticence in their biddings, resulting in the withdrawal of many lots ; these were, however, mostly cleared privately' afterwards. Out of 247 bales offered, 231 found buyers at the following rates Greasy : Merino, 6}d to 7d ; half-bred, and lambs, 74d. Scoured : Merino, Is 2id to Is 4fd ■ do. pieces, ll£d to IsOfd ; cross-bred, 114 d to Is 4£d ; do locks and pieces, 6id to Is. The first of new clip arrived in store to-day'. At Auckland a few small lots have been sold at public sale, realising 7,5-16 d per lb.
