TO THE “ MAIL.” • * (per reuter’s agency.) WOOL SALES. London, 2nd.—The third series of wool sales closed to-day. The total quantity sold during the series has been 320,000 bales, and 40,000 bales have been held over for next auction, which, commences on November 21st. Good qualities of wool have closed at about the same prices as ruled at the May-June series, but inferior and faulty wools of all kinds were irregular, AGRARIAN MURDERS. (Received sth, 12.30 p.m.) London, 3rd.—Two serious agrarian murders are reported to-day from Ireland, farmers in both cases being the victims. The scenes of the outrages were at Boyle, in the County of Roscommon, and Castle Island, in the County of Kerry. Several arrests of persons supposed to be implicated in the murders have been made. PRINCE BISMARCK. Berlin, 3rd.—Prince Bismarck’s health has somewhat improved, and he is now coming from his country seat to Berlin to resume his official duties. EGYPT AND ENGLAND. Alexandria, 3rd.-—lt has transpired that it has been decided that the Brigades under Sir Evelyn Wood and Sir Archibald Alison shall remain in occupation of Egj-pt. The rest of the troops will leave during the course of this month. EGYPT-WHO ORDERED THE MASSACRES ? (Received 6th, 2.50 a. in/) Alexandria, 4th.—The preliminary inquiry into the recent rebellion is now proceeding, and a large amount of evidence baa hecu taken by the Royal Ooinmiairrort appointed by the Khedive to conduct the prosecution of rebel officers. Constantinople, 4tb.—lt lias transpired that the Sultan has pressed Irord Dnfferiii to state definitely the date upon which the British troops will be withdrawn from Egypt, and declares that he will appeal to the Powers unless the British Government arrive at an early decision in the matter. London. sth.—Tim Thnes publishes a telegram that English officers possess documentary evidence of Arabrs complicity in the massacre of Europeans at Alexandria and other places. Colonial Bishops. Sydney, *sth.—The provincial bishops have selected the Right Rev Edward Parry,.suffragan Bishop of Dover, and tlie Rev Richard Appleton, fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, for recommendation to bishops of Australia and Tasmania, for the vacant bishopric of Sydney and primacy of Australia. Canon Fleming, of York, whose name was selected by iljo Diocesan Synod, is no longer a candidate for office. Melbourne Cup.
