CRICKET.—MARRIED & SINGLE.
This match on Saturday “ turned the tabjes ’’■ on the married pien, w.ho got what is called an awful licking. They couldn’t get the single team out; neither bowling nor fielding being of any avail. F. Read and W. Harden. made a longistand for the single 1 team ; Read being caught out for 35, and Harden carrying nut his bat lor 41 when time was called. The married players had been always considered “ too many ’’ for the bachelors
in previous pitched battles ; but Saturday was a severely sweet revenge for the bachelors. It is said the other team was weak in bowlers; Each side played one innings,,.the .game Being drawn iri favor of the single team, who had three wickets to 1 fall when time was rip, and their score then stood at 107 as against only 20.
