Nearly two million acres of Crown land is to bo open for pastoral leasing in Otago. No lease is to exceed 21 years. The books therefore are with the manager, and as he knows they have to be audited without delay, it is his duty to pass the books to the auditors. Creditors of Mr T. Haywood senior, butcher, met this afternoon in the Court House, the attendance being numerous. The total liabilities were stated at £2,041, and the assets at £1,659, showing an apparent deficiency of £382. The bankrupt was being examined whe* this edition went to press.
