CANTERBURY GRAIN AND PRODUCE. (From the Canterbury Times.) The week ending 23rd September has been an extremely quiet one. There is very little that calls for notice, prices in nearly all lines being much on the same basis. WHEAT.—The market is very flat, with a limited enquiry. Best milling is not worth over 4s 5d to 4s 6d. Oats are unchanged. A few sales have transpired at quotations—milling, 3s 2d to 3s 3d ; and feed at 2s lid to 3s Id. Barley. —The market is without appreciable change. Best malting 4s 6d to 4s 9d. The demand for second samples is not brisk. Flour. — Millers still quote £ll to £ll 10s, according to brand. Potatoes do not claim much attention. Prices stand at 35s to 40s. Grass Seed.— Beyond a few odd sales there is nothing doing. Prices are much easier, but buyers will not operate except for actual orders. Dairy Produce. —Hams and bacon 7|d to Bd, cheese Bd, butter Is to Is Id, but little is offering as yet.
