This Afterroon.
THE SYDNEY FIRE-TOTAL DESTRUCTION OP PALACE. LOSS, HALF A MILLION. (Received 22nd, 1.30 p.m.) Sydney, this day, 11 a.m.—All the archives of the Mining Department, the Census office, Linncan Society, together with the National collection of minerals in the Technological museum, have been destroyed at the Garden Palace fire. Estimated loss in all amounts to half a million sterling. The dome of the great building fell with a crash at twenty minutes after the fire broke out. The destruction is complete.
