Company has been arrested under warrant for embezzlement. He decamped and was caught at Port Chalmers. Later. Edwin Marlow, defaulting clerk, was found concealed in the house of a friend. It is believed he contemplated leaving by the barque Woodville for Chili to-day. He was brought up at the Court this morning, and formally charged with the embezzlement of £BO. He was remanded pending the getting ready of other charges. Bail was allowed, himself in £SOO, and two sureties in £250 each. WOOL SALES. London, 19th.—The wool catalogued at the late sales was 104,000 bales, and of these there were withdrawn 15,000, a portion of which has since been placed. Long and good coating wools fully maintain last June rates, showing a great advance. Other sorts are unaltered.
