NATIVE RESERVES BILL. An amendment by Mr Bryce in the Native Reserves Bill has been accepted. The clause gives the Governor in Council power to make regulation as to fees, salaries, and cost of administration, and provides that the word benefit, in any instrument constituting a trust under the Act, shall he construed to mean the physical, moral, social, or pecuniary benefit of such natives, and include proof medical assistance and mediA clause was added that holding office under the Act should not bring any native under the Disqualification Act. BILLS PASSED. Wellington, 23rd. —The Native Land Act Amendment Bill and the Native Land Division Bill passed through committee, were read u third time, and passed. Progress with Parliamentary Bills Wellington. After the usual adjournment the Land Boards Bill was considered in comraitte. An amendment of Mr. Kelly’s that the Boards should be elected by the ordinary electors of ihe district, instead of by the local bodies being carried, the bill reported as amended. The Fencing Act amendment Bill was considered, but on a division of 22 to 20 progress was reported. The Gold Duties Act Amendment Bill passed through committee, was read third time, and passed.
